Jeanette Cantu Appears in Court

The Office of the District Attorney reports that defendant Jeanette Cantu appeared in the 49th District Court for a capias hearing. The Honorable Judge Joe Lopez appointed local attorney Jose Arce to serve as Cantu’s defense attorney. Immediately upon his appointment, Arce requested a bond reduction for Cantu, which was denied. Her bond remains at $300,000 for the charges of Murder, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
A consultation hearing was set for September 17th in the 49th District Court.
