Legislation to bring more than $66 million to school districts in Cuellar’s District, $850,000 to Texas’ Medicaid programs
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Henry Cuellar, TX-28, voted today in support of H.R. 1586, the Education Jobs and Medicaid Assistance Act, which will save thousands of jobs for teachers, firefighters and police, while at the same time benefitting Texas school children and neighborhoods, all without increasing the deficit.

Spearheaded effort requesting Pelosi, Hoyer to bring Bill to the House Floor
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Henry Cuellar, TX-28, today helped unanimously pass HR 6080, the 2010 Emergency Border Security Supplemental Appropriations Bill, which provides $600 million to strengthen border security and help reduce violence along the Southwest border.
The text of the bill is identical to that passed by the Senate last Thursday, but now avoids the violation of the Origination Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

On Friday August 06, 2010 after 7 p.m., the Laredo Police Department’s Pipeline Unit (highway interdiction) while working I-35 stopped a white in color tractor hauling a grey trailer going northbound on I-35. The LPD pipeline officer noted a traffic violation and conducted a lawful traffic stop at the 16 mile marker. The officer conducted a routine K-9 run of the outside of the truck. The Laredo Broncos are disappointed with yesterday’s budget approval vote given to Ventura Group to operate in the new baseball stadium. The Laredo Broncos are proud of the 5 years that we have operated at a stadium which many consider to be outdated, but we were anxious to get baseball back in Laredo after a decade without America’s pastime.
