Webb County Sheriff’s Office Recovers Stolen Heavy Equipment From Pachuca, Hidalgo Mexico

Laredo, Texas –  On Friday, July 23rd,  2010, at approximately 4:16 p.m.,   The Webb county Sheriff’s Office in  joint efforts  with Nuevo Laredo authorities, recovered a bulldozer that was reported stolen out of state in Chicago, Illinois.  The stolen report  was initiated by the Chicago Police Department on June 29, 2009. The stolen heavy equipment machinery was a  2005 model with a price value of  $72,000.  This machinery was recovered in Pachuca, Hidalgo Mexico.  The Webb County Sheriff’s Office took possession of this stolen property at the World Trade Bridge as it was released by Nuevo Laredo Authorities.

 “ The partnerships between law enforcement is extremely important, the hard work and efforts has resulted in great success.  we will continue to work closely with our neighbors to the South and other Law Enforcement Agencies to bring criminals to justice”.  Sheriff Martin Cuellar stated.

 As a reference –This case was investigated by the National Insurance Crime Bureau “NICB” which handles all cases involving stolen equipment between the United States, Canada and Mexico. According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, heavy equipment theft is a growing problem that costs construction companies up to $1 billion per year in lost assets.
