29 July 2010 No Comment

Mayor Pro Tempore Johnny Rendon, Council Member for District V, Members of the Laredo City Council, Mayor Raul G. Salinas, countless City of Laredo officials and leading community members were all on hand to officially cut the ribbon for the new Bartlett Extension project, which will now unite Bartlett from Jacaman south to Gale Street, an additional north –south thoroughfare that should help alleviate congestion on McPherson. The event was a jovial event, with mariachi to help set the festive mood.  The $2.5 million project is 4,500 linear feet of road that is a 49-foot back-to-back concrete section with a dedicated right turning lane to Jacaman Road.  The project, which included, clearing; rough grading; excavating; preparing sub-grade; installing base material and asphalt; installing waterlines, sewer lines, storm drainage system and a street light, as well as a traffic light at the intersection of Jacaman and Bartlett, took approximately 13 months to complete.
