Congress Passes Measure to Protect Texas Education Funding
Washington, DC – Today, the Texas Democratic Congressional Delegation issued the following statement regarding a provision contained in the House-passed 2010 Supplemental Appropriations Act to prevent the state of Texas from diverting $820 million in emergency education jobs funding for non-educational use. Last year, Texas state leaders diverted to its rainy day fund $3.25 billion in federal Recovery Act funds that were intended to support Texas public schools.

Laredo, TX-Starting Wednesday July 7th registration through a microchip will be available with participating veterinarians, pet shops and the animal shelter, others may be added in the future.
  Registration highlights:
a.       Registration is through microchip and required by city ordinance however the public has a year to register their pets (August 2011).
 b.      If one microchips their pet now it is $5.00 with:

Local Veterinarians (ask if participating, microchip will be done with pet vaccination)
Pet Land, 7901 San Dario Ave (Tuesdays 4-7 pm)

Broncos announce time change for game one of the double header on Saturday between the Broncos and Colts

The Laredo Broncos announced that game one of the scheduled double header between the Broncos and Colts has been moved up to 5:05 PM. Game two of the double header will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. 
Sunday’s finale between San Angelo and Laredo will start at the originally scheduled time of 7:35 PM and the fourth of July fireworks show will start 10 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

Broncos give up two home runs in the ninth; fall to Colts 8-5 in game one of the series

The Broncos (13-20) and Colts (17-16) were all tied at five in the top of the ninth when the Colts erupted for two home runs in the inning and secured the 8-5 win in game on of the four game series at Veterans Field.
