On June 25, 2010 An LPD officer spotted a tractor trailer near a truck stop located off of IH-35. The officer witnessed a traffic violation committed by the truck and the vehicle was stopped as it exited near the truck stop. After routine questioning the officer noted inconsistencies in the driver’s story. An LPD canine was summoned to the location. The Police K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal contraband within the trailer and a search was conducted whereas several bundles of marijuana were located inside the trailer. …

On June 26, 2010 members of the Laredo Police Department’s Narcotics Unit received information that bundles of marijuana were being stored at the 3200 W. Fiesta. Surveillance was immediately set up on this residence on the second day of surveillance at approximately 3 p.m., a Maroon Chevrolet truck was observed arriving at said location. The driver, identified later as Luis Rodriguez-Reyes, exited the vehicle and met with a male subject from inside the residence. The White Wings announced during sunday’s game one of the four game series between the Broncos and the White Wings that the two teams will play a double header on Tuesday June 29th to avoid a tropical storm expected to hit Harlingen on Wednesday.
Game four, originally scheduled for 11:05 AM on Wednesday June 30th will now be played at 10:35 AM on Tuesday June 29th with game two of the double header starting at 7:05 PM.

June 27th,- HARLINGEN, TX-The Broncos (12-19) and the White Wings (14-17) battled to a 2-2 tie into the ninth inning when the Broncos were able to score four runs and earn the victory 6-2 over the White Wings.
RHP Santo Hernandez (4-2) made his team leading seventh start for the Broncos in 2010, and his second against the White Wings. RHP Miguel Matos (2-0) was making his first start of 2010 for the White Wings.

(June 26th, LAREDO, TX)-The Broncos (11-19) made a late rally with a two run home run by Nick Mahin in the bottom of the seventh but ultimately fell short and were defeated by the Dillas (17-13) 7-6. RHP Michael Lucas (2-3) made his first start of the year for the Broncos, in place of the injured RHP Dimitri Camareno (1-3). Making his sixth start of season for the Dillas was RHP Ralph Roberts (3-2).

AUSTIN – State transportation officials today approved 11 projects around the state that will be funded by TxDOT’s pass-through finance program. The Texas Transportation Commission approved the list of projects, estimated at $280 million in state investment, at its monthly meeting. Pass-through financing allows local municipalities or private entities to pay for costs to build a transportation project and get reimbursed from the state as the transportation project becomes operational. It lets local officials reprioritize and accelerate projects important to the region.
