LAREDO, TX – A game in which the Broncos (3-6) led 4-0 after three innings slips away to the White Wings (4-5) 8-6 in ten innings. RHP Eric Eden (0-1) made his second start of the year for the Broncos, still looking for his first win of 2010.  Eden got some early help from his defense, he faced just seven batters through the first two innings thanks to two double plays; one in each of the first two innings.

For the Broncos the power surge continued against Stepehen Walen (0-1), Jason Diaz led things off with an infield single and RBI leader Kenny Gilbert knocked him in with a double, picking up his eighth RBI of the season.

Dustin Spruill got into the swing of things with his second home run of the season, a two run shot over the right field wall to put the Broncos up 3-0.

In Eden’s third inning of work he allowed a leadoff walk and then proceeded to strike out the side.  Through three innings of work Eden had faced just 12 batters and had allowed no runs.

Dustin Spruill would plant his second home run of the game and his third of the season over the right field wall to put the broncos ahead 4-0 in the third.

After a one out triple in the top of the fourth by Arlon Quiroz, Kevin Deitrich picked up his first RBI of 2010 with a single to make the score 4-1 Broncos.

The White Wings bats were right back at it in the top of the fifth. Eric Eden would hit his second batter of the game and with two away Joel Road would rope a two run home run over the right field wall to make the score 4-3 Broncos.

The White Wings would not stop there, Eden came out for his sixth inning of work.  He walked Eric Gonzalez to start things off, then induced Dietrich to ground into a fielders choice.  Brad Menadier then hit an RBI double off Eden to tie the game at four and signal the end of the day for Eric Eden.

LHP Aaron Jenkins came out of the bullpen, he would face only three batters.  Jose Fulgencio struck out, he walked Javis Diaz and hit Kevin Griffin.

Manager Dan Firova had seen enough, he summoned RHP Angelo Morales from the Bronco Bullpen.  Right off the bat Morales surrendered a two run single to Salvador Paniagia that gave the White Wings their first lead of the game 6-4.

The Broncos would trail 6-4 into the bottom of the seventh.  Miguel Matos was in his second inning of relief and Ben Wolgamot led off with a double.  Gilbert grounded out and Spruill was hit by a pitch.  Doug Thennis pickd up his seventh RBI of the season with a double and the score was 6-5 White Wings.  Gabriel Memmert tied the game on the first pitch he saw with a SAC fly to center field that brought home Spruill from third and tied the game at 6-6.

It would stay that way into the top of the tenth frame; with Jonathan Miller (0-1) the Broncos closer on the mound. He retired the first two batters of the inning with ease.  Javis Diaz reached on an infield single and Kevin Griffin worked a walk.  Salvador Paniagia knocked in the go ahead run with a single and then for insurance Joel Roa did the same to bring the score to 8-6 White Wings.

Michael Barbosa came in for the ninth and secured his fourth save of the year and the 8-6 White Wing victory.
