Supports Veteran Caregivers, Returning Troops and Families
Washington, DC – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today announced that a landmark veteran caregiver bill passed by Congress two weeks ago is now law. The Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act provides unprecedented new benefits to veteran caregivers including training, counseling, health care and financial assistance. President Obama signed the bill into law late Wednesday.

 The Education Committee of the Laredo Chamber of Commerce annually takes time to honor educators.  A special recognition – the School Bell Award – is presented to those educators that are selected by their peers for their performance in and out of the classroom.

Heat Continue to Add to Roster

( Laredo , TX): A new crop of recently signed players by the Laredo Heat was announced today and a few of them not only saw action at last Friday’s home opener but actually contributed to the win over the visiting Rio Grande Valley Bravos.

Laredo Independent School District has scheduled pre-registration for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students for the 2010-2011 school year.  Parents can pre-register their children from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning Monday, May 10 – Friday, May 14, at their respective campuses.
            Applications forms for pre-kinder and kinder registration are now available and may be picked up at each school.

 Dynser, Inc, a contractor for the City of Laredo, is working on the construction of a sanitary sewer main line, manholes, and other miscellaneous work related to the Canal Street drainage and wastewater improvement project.  Crews will close West San Francisco Avenue, between Ortiz Street and Chicago Street, starting on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 8:00 a.m.  The closure will be in effect until approximately end of day Friday, May 7, 2010.
