Identity of Homeless Man Murdered in Bruni Plaza Revealed

 The family of the murdered man found in Bruni Plaza back in February of 2010 has been located and notified by Laredo Police Homicide Detectives.  The victim of murder #2 of 2010 has been identified as Allen J. Masek, age 62, originally of Cleveland, Ohio. The Laredo Police released a composite sketch of a person of interest in this homicide (see attached old release and sketch picture).  The Laredo Police need help with any information regarding the Masek murder case.  All calls will remain anonymous.  If anyone knows …

LPD Narcotics and Vice Prostitution Sting Nets 9 Arrests

Thursday evening, April 29, 2010,  members of the Laredo Police Department’s  Narcotics &Vice Unit, along with the LPD Patrol Division worked a special detail on the west side of Laredo, specifically targeting the San Bernardo Avenue area.  The objective was to locate, identify and arrest anyone soliciting prostitution.  Eight females and one male were arrested for soliciting money for sex from an undercover Laredo Police Officer. The run at another Premier Development League (PDL) championship for the Laredo Heat Soccer Club starts this Friday, April 30th at the Texas A&M International Soccer Complex. Kick-off is set for 8:00 PM.

AUSTIN-The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will host a series of open- house style public meetings across Texas to give citizens an opportunity to provide feedback on a long-range plan that provides the agency with a blueprint for the state’s future transportation needs.

TxDOT’s 25 districts will host two public meetings , one each in May and August to provide the public an opportunity to preview the agency’s Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan 2035.

AUSTIN—The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is seeking public comment on proposed text for the agency’s 2011-2015 Strategic Plan ( http://www.txdot.gov/public_involvement/public_comment/strategic_plan.htm ), a 34-page document that defines the department’sgoals and objectives and establishes strategic initiatives that reflect a move toward a more performance-driven, multimodal agency.
Included in the plan are recommended performance measures ( http://www.txdot.gov/about_us/sppm/measures.htm ) that allow the agency to track and evaluate achievement levels for strategic goals and objectives. A familiar face will be returning to the pitch at the Texas A&M International Soccer Complex for the Laredo Heat Soccer Club as former LBJ High School standout and United States Under 20 Men’s National Team member Felix Garcia has been granted permission to play in the Premier Development League (PDL) for the upcoming 2010 season.
