Arrested for Tampering with Governmental Record

         The Laredo Police Department CAPROS division served an arrest warrant for Annabella Ramirez, on charges of Tampering with a Governmental Record F/3.  The investigation into the incident occurred on February 11, 2010 when Ramirez signed a certified a Certificate of Occupancy for a local business.  She issued this official document to the business despite failing of the fire inspection conducted by the Laredo Fire Department.  This criminal case is considered open and ongoing.  Ramirez was arrested at approximately 4:45 pm at the Laredo Police Department, booked and was …

WEBB COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES SEIZE $28,000 In Cold Hard Cash

 Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Thursday, March 18, 2010, at approximately 10:30 a.m., The Webb County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Mitsubishi near the 16 mile marker, South bound on Interstate 35. After interviewing the driver, Deputies obtained consent to search the vehicle and immediately discovered $28,000 in US currency concealed in the rear quarter panel.  No arrests were made, investigation continues.

Man Arrested by Marshals for Alleged Sex Crimes against Children

The US Marshal’s Task Force arrested Fernando Salas, age 50, for a 12 outstanding warrants.  The warrants were for 1 count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, 1 count of Sexual Assault, and 10 counts of Indecency with a Child.  All 12 warrants come with a combined bond of $1.2 million set by Justice of the Peace Veliz.  The assault allegation spanned from 2001-2010 against 2 different female victims.  Salas was arrested at a residence on the 200 block of Lincoln at 7:30 this morning by members of the U.S. …

 Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Webb County Sheriff’s Office seized over one half million dollars in US currency.
