LPD Narcs Take Down Over 500 lbs of Marijuana and Two Weapons Make One Arrest

 The Laredo Police Narcotics/Vice Unit assisted by Laredo Police Patrol Division did a narcotics investigation by the 600 block of Azucena. The investigation included a multi-day surveillance of the residence.  The Narcotics Task Force, on Thursday February 11th, went to the home and received consent to search the property from the occupant of the home.  The Narcotics team and Patrol Officers recovered (17) bundles of Marijuana with a total weight of 595.5 pounds. Also at the home officers recovered 2 weapons, one of them an Uzi machine gun.  Reymundo Lara Lopez, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana F/2. Lara Lopez was booked at the Laredo Police Department and later transported to the Webb County Jail in lieu of no bond. All evidence recovered at the scene was photographed and logged in at the Laredo Police Department.  Reymundo Lara Lopez was eventually turned over to ATF agents for federal charges for the weapons found in his possession.
