Landmark Pay-As-You-Go Spending Rules Aim to Restore Fiscal Surpluses of the 1990s

Washington, DC – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today helped pass statutory Pay-As-You-Go legislation to reestablish spending rules for Congress to rein-in federal spending, draw down the nation’s debt and restore the fiscal discipline of the 1990s when deficits were turned into record-setting surpluses. PAYGO rules last expired in the House in late 2002.

Laredo, TX – In honor of National Awareness Day for Heart Disease in Women the City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) will be highlighting the importance of heart disease prevention in women. All women who visit the Health Department on Friday, February 5, 2010 will be given a brochure with information about heart disease and a heart magnet with the City of Laredo Health Department address and phone number. The Laredo Public Library will be offering FREE income tax assistance all day Saturday, February 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Laredo Public Library, 1120 E. Calton Road, through its VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program.
VITA provides FREE tax help in the community. Volunteers help people with basic tax returns, particularly those with low and limited income, individuals with disabilities, non-English speaking and elderly taxpayers.

The “Teens in the Driver Seat Organization” of the Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts together with Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar will be hosting the National Arrive Alive Tour 2010 in Laredo.
