Laredo ISD Schools Back in District 29-5A

 Laredo Independent School District high schools have been realigned and are back together in the same district on the playing field. This morning, the University Interscholastic
League announced the new realignment to form District 29-5A.
 The new 10-team district will include Martin, Nixon, Cigarroa, United, United South, Alexander, LBJ, Eagle Pass, Eagle Pass Winn, and Del Rio High Schools.

Bucks Home Twice This Week, Thursday & Saturday

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will play twice at the Laredo Entertainment Center this week when they host Rio Grande Valley on Thursday (Feb. 4th) and welcome Amarillo on Saturday (Feb. 6th).

Mayor Salinas Welcomes Cienega de Flores to City Hall

Earlier today, City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas welcomed representatives from Cienega de Flores, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Laredo, reestablishing the Sister Cities ties made over 20 years ago under the late Mayor Aldo Tatangelo.  Visiting City Hall were Mayor Leandro Montemayor, Lic. Zapata County – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Pharr District is beginning a construction project on US 83 in Zapata today, February 1, 2010. The 3.172 miles long project is from south of Tepozan County Road to south of Monterrey Lane. The project plans are to upgrade US 83 from to a four lane rural roadway with a continuous left turn lane. Foremost Paving, Inc. was awarded the $6,720,528.17 construction project expected to take 11 months to complete.
