Laredo, TX — The City of Laredo Health Department is pleased to announce the arrival of its new state-of-the-art Communication and Response Trailer designed to enhance local public health emergency preparedness efforts throughout the State of Texas.
The unit was designed by engineers at the non-profit Texas Association of Local Health Officials (TALHO), based out of Cedar Park, TX. 2010 Census Office brings thousands of jobs to local communities

Washington, DC – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today announced that 2,000 new jobs will be created in 11 South Texas Counties including, Webb, Zapata, Jim Hogg, Frio and La Salle, in preparation for the 2010 Census beginning this March. Jobs will include part-time to full-time opportunities for workers ranging between 20 to 40 hours per week.

Laredo, TX—Tues, Jan 19, 2010—City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas will be in Washington starting tomorrow for the 78th Annual Winter Meeting of the United States Conference of Mayors, of which Salinas is a member of the organization’s Advisory Board. While there, Mayor Salinas and his fellow mayors will meet with President Barack Obama at the White House on Thursday for a three hour discussion on jobs and the economy.
