H1N1 Vaccine Clinic Sunday, December 6, 2009

Laredo, TX – The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) in conjunction with Laredo Medical Center will be hosting an H1N1 Vaccine Clinic on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Laredo Medical Center, Community Center, Tower B, 1st Floor.  2000 vaccines are available and will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis.  There is no cost for the vaccine.

 The H1N1 vaccines will be administered to following priority groups:

  • Pregnant women
  • Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age
  • Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
  • All people from 6 months through 24 years of age
  • Persons aged 25 through 64 years of age who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza.

 As stated before, Influenza A H1N1 is acting just like Seasonal Flu and at this time it is no more serious, and in most cases, even milder. We are encouraging the public, especially young adults attending college to come out and take advantage of this clinic in order to help minimize the rate of infection.  We appreciate the partnership with Laredo Medical Center and our other local medical providers.  Through our efforts many people we be protected against H1N1.
