LAREDO – On-going construction of the FM 1472 overpass (north and south direct connectors) at IH 35 project will require several lane closures and detours the week of December 28, 2009, weather permitting. Schedule follows:

●    December 30, 2009, 1 to 4 p.m. – FM 1472 NB and SB main lane intermittent, partial and complete closures between Santa Maria Ave. and Flecha Lane for placement of overhead traffic signs. Lane closures will evolve in the following sequence: FM 1472 NB main lanes – two outside lanes closed, one inside lane open to traffic with eventual closure of all FM 1472 NB and SB main lanes.

●    December 30, 2009, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on December 31, 2009 – FM 1472 SBDC (southbound direct connector) overpass complete closure for placement of overhead traffic signs. Traffic will be detoured to Santa Maria Ave. to Del Mar Blvd. and IH 35 SB entry ramp.

●    December 30, 2009, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on December 31, 2009 – Closure of IH 35 main lanes at FM 1472 to install an overhead sign bridge. Detours: All NB traffic must exit at Del Mar exit and use frontage road to access entrance ramp south of Shiloh to return to NB IH 35. All SB traffic will be required to exit at the FM1472/Santa Maria/Del Mar exit and use frontage road to access IH 35 on ramp to SB I-35 south of Del Mar.

The traveling public should slow down, drive with extreme caution, and observe all safety signs, traffic control devices and flaggers in the work zone area.
