On 11-06-09, LPD Officers along with members of the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force proceeded to 3009 Garfield for the purposes of executing (3) narcotics arrest warrants on Javier Monicivais, Jorge Moncivais Sr, and Jorge Moncivais Jr. Upon arrival, authorities encountered and arrested all three mentioned defendants. During the execution of the warrants, Officers observed a fourth suspect, Jesus Marchan, throwing items out of his pocket. On December 03, 2009 at approximately 10:30 pm an officer at the 8100 block of McPherson, who had stopped a vehicle for a traffic citation, was collided into by an intoxicated driver. Kimberly Yvette Martinez, 23, rear ended the officer who had his overhead lights on while he stopped a vehicle on a routine traffic violation. The officer was inside the patrol car when the collision happened. The extent of the crash was considered minor and could have been much worse. The officer was taken to Doctor’s Hospital …

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League, in conjunction with Fox 39 Laredo, announced that a new episode of “Bucks Insider” will air this Saturday (Dec. 5th) at 11:30am on Fox 39.
“Bucks insider” is a weekly television show hosted by “The Voice of the Bucks” Bryan Benway, that will feature exclusive inteviews with Bucks coaches, players and fans.
This week’s show will feature in-depth interviews with Terry Ruskowski and Jeff Bes, as well as highlights of the Bucks November 27th and 29th games.

House passes “death” tax compromise to make exemptions permanent
Washington, DC – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today voted for H.R. 4154, the Permanent Estate Tax Relief Act, tax cutting legislation to provide relief to American families, farmers and small businesses by extending current estate tax exemptions for inheritances that would otherwise face tax hikes in 2011.
Under current estate tax law, inheritances less than $3.5 million per individual and $7 million per married couple are exempt from taxes. In 2011, thousands of additional Americans would be subject to a …

LAREDO – On-going construction of the FM 1472-IH 35 overpass (north and south direct connectors) requires periodic, temporary closures of the IH 35 north- and southbound main lanes at FM 1472 to include Del Mar Blvd. at IH 35, Santa Maria Ave. at FM 1472, IH 35 north- and southbound frontage roads and entrance and exit ramps.

Laredo, TX – The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) in conjunction with Laredo Medical Center will be hosting an H1N1 Vaccine Clinic on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Laredo Medical Center, Community Center, Tower B, 1st Floor. 2000 vaccines are available and will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost for the vaccine.

A majority of Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) students have voted their support for increased fees for the 2010-11 school year that will improve the University’s Kinesiology, Wellness and Recreation Center (KWRC) and make possible expansion and remodeling of the food service area.
At the end of this week’s three-day on-line voting period, 379 students had cast ballots indicating 328 in support of a flat-rate recreation sports fee change, 51 opposed and 286 in favor of the food service expansion/remodel and 93 opposed. The student-approved fees are now subject …
