On Oct. 29, 2009, two suspects, a female and male, entered the Wal-Mart located on Loop 20. They took two laptops from the display area and walked out the store. Several minutes later, the duo returned and took two more laptops. The next day, Wal-Mart personnel filed a police report and provided a copy of the surveillance video showing the theft being committed. Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 3980, a homeland security bill authored by Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) requiring the Federal Emergency Management Agency to assess how homeland security grants have made the nation safer and better prepared since the terror acts of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

Laredo, Texas –U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry seized 239 pounds of marijuana Monday evening that resulted in the arrest of a commercial truck driver.
CBP officers arrested a 23-year-old male Mexican citizen from Nuevo Laredo , Tamaulipas and turned him over to the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents after CBP officers discovered 239 pounds of marijuana hidden inside the commercial tractor trailer he was driving.

On December 01, 2009, members of the Laredo Police Department’s Narcotics Unit along with the U.S. Marshals executed a felony arrest warrant for Ernesto “Dopey” Gonzalez DOB: 02-07-1985 at his residence located at the 2300 block of San Leonardo. Upon executing the arrest warrant, Investigators located and seized 60 doses (18.5 grams) of cocaine, 17.6 ounces of marijuana and a .38 caliber handgun.
