Temporary Nighttime Closures of IH 35 NB & SB

LAREDO – Weather permitting on Nov. 13-14 and 16-18 each day from 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., select segments of IH 35 NB just North of Mann Road and IH 35 SB just South of Shiloh with associated roads, streets and on-off-ramps will close temporarily to install steel girders for the construction of FM 1472 NBDC (Northbound direct connector) bridge.
Closures and detours follow:
● Nov. 13 – Temporary closure of NB IH 35 closure north of Del Mar to move crane from the east side of IH 35 to west side of IH 35. All NB traffic must exit at Del Mar exit and use frontage road to access entrance ramp south of Shiloh to return to NB IH 35.
● Nov. 13 – SB IH 35 will be closed all night just south of Shiloh, This closure may extend beyond 6 a.m. All SB traffic must exit at the FM 1472/Del Mar/Santa Maria exit and re-enter IH 35 SB at entrance ramp just north of Mann Road.
● Nov. 14 & 16-18 – Santa Maria closure from Del Mar north to FM 1472. No traffic will be allowed within this area. IH 35 SBFR traffic north of FM 1472 will be re-directed to NB FM 1472.
NOTE – For more efficient traffic control, the FM 1472 SB access loop will be closed to thru traffic and all FM 1472 SB traffic will be directed to access the southbound direct connector (SBDC) bridge.
The traveling public should slow down, drive with extreme caution, and observe all safety signs, traffic control devices and flaggers in the work zone area.
