Good observation by a couple of Laredo Police Patrol Officers led to the seizure of $690,940.00 in currency. On 09/27/09, the Laredo Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a Deadly Conduct call at the 2300 block of Bruni Street at approximately 2:30 p.m. While at the scene, the investigation led officers to an address on the 2300 block of Bruni St. where several people were interviewed about the Deadly Conduct incident. Last week’s stunning culmination of One City, One Book had almost 1,000 individuals who flocked to the Laredo Civic Center to hear Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author Sonia Nazario, recount the tell of “Enrique’s Journey,” a journey she also replicated in order to better understand – and tell – the child immigrant experience. The 1100 block of Tilden Avenue will be closed, due to maintenance repairs by CenterPoint Energy in the area. The closure will be for several hours Tuesday, September 29, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League helped raise $11,000 for WINGS of Laredo at the Pretty in Pink Auction at the Embassy Suites Friday night (Sep 25th).
Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski and Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting were the auctioneers at the event, which featured 12 paintings donated from local artists.
Since January of 2009 the Bucks have had a part in helping raise over $24,000 for WINGS, including donating a total $13,200 from the team themselves.

On Wednesday September 23, 2009 at approximately 4:41am Laredo Police received a call of a burglary in progress. The caller advised that two subjects wearing a ski mask were attempting to gain entry into a place of business located at 2802 Santa Ursula.
When Patrol Officers arrived they observed the subjects running westbound towards San Bernardo.
