The Laredo Police Department is updating the story of Karla Victoria Yrigoyen-Rivas, Hispanic female, 12 years old who was reported missing on 09-22-09 at approximately 4 pm. The story is being updated in reference to a man who originally was thought to be the person who may have taken the 12 year old girl. Originally the police were looking for a person known as Jose Angel Cruz, AKA Giovanni, Hispanic, male, 28 years old, 5’6, 200, bald, brown, and last seen wearing blue muscle shirt, blue jeans, and yellow boots. …

Laredo, TX – – The City of Laredo continues the remodeling and constructing of its Health Department. This next phase includes the TB and Maternity Clinics.
During this period, to assure continuation of services, and to provide safety for patients and clients, we are making the following temporary change: effective Thursday, October 1, 2009 through Friday, October 2, 2009, the City of Laredo Health Department TB Clinic will be closed to the public.
TB services will resume on Monday, October 5, 2009 at their temporary site located at 2002 Guadalupe …

Starting today, September 30 2009, the City of Laredo Public Works Division will begin milling Ireland and Columbia Drive to prepare for future resurfacing of the streets. The milling division will be working on the outer edges of the street and the streets will not be closed to through traffic. Ireland will be milled from US 83 to Columbia Drive and Columbia Drive will be milled from Ejido to Loma Del Sur. Weather permitting, the milling will continue until Friday, October 9, 2000 when Public Works crews will then resurface …

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – It was bout after bout and the crowd kept on Cheering!! As the Webb County P.A.L Boxing Gym held a Boxing Smoker event that attracted hundreds of people.
The Webb County Sheriff’s Office P.A.L Gym held a “Boxing Smoker” event on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The event attracted young boxers from all over Texas including Laredo. Participating teams included:

Weather permitting, the 300 block of Iturbide, between San Enrique and San Jorge, will be closed, due to maintenance repairs by CenterPoint Energy in the area. The closure will be for several hours Wednesday, September 30, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

At approximately 12:30 pm on September 29, 2009 the City of Laredo received, in some areas, up to 6 inches of rainfall. The rainfall lasted approximately an hour and a half. The torrential down pour of rain created various traffic related setbacks throughout the city. Laredo first responders were busy trying to block low water crossings and attend to marooned vehicles stuck in standing water. The Laredo Police Department was especially busy with a major roadway in the east part of the city at the intersection of Jacaman …

Please be aware that Jacaman Road will be closed due to flooding from this afternoon’s downpour. Please use caution when driving in the area and follow all directional and detour signs.
Avoid any roads with flowing water; six inches of water is enough to move vehicles. Turn around – don’t drown!
