Webb County Clerk Margie Ibarra celebrated her campaign announcement yesterday accompanied by friends and family outlining her accomplishments as County Clerk as well as her future goals once re-elected. Today, I formally ask all the voters of Webb County for their vote of confidence and support as I announce that I will be seeking re-election as your Webb County Clerk in the March 2, 2010 Democratic Primary Election.
With the continued support of my staff, I will continue moving The Webb County Clerks Office forward always taking in consideration the best interest of all residents of Webb County by wisely using their taxpayer dollars.
Accomplishements
Property Records:
The scanning of all our property records since early beginning 1848 to the present.
All property records are available to the public through our website. Indices from 1969 to the present are viewable free of charge and by becoming a subscriber images can be viewed and documents can be downloaded.
Implementation of e-recording of official public records gives our title companies and out of town agencies the option of recording documents electronically.
By using the most updated equipment, the recording process is done in less than 10 minutes and customers leave the office with their original document.
Vital Statistics Records
Death certificates are now being electronically recorded through the TER. By being electronically connected to the Department of Vital Statistics and local funeral homes. Death Certificates are recorded quicker and are available the same day.
Scanning of our Marriage Licenses makes it easier for the searching of copies giving faster service.
Assisted and will continue to assist many couples by providing them with information of the benefits of the Twotogether in Texas Program.
Have preserved over a dozen of our older vital and courts books in order to preserve and maintain the History of Webb County.
Commissioners Court
Our office has scanned all Commissioner’s Court minutes from 1876 to present. This makes searching and viewing of minutes more accessible to the public.
Court Division
Civil Cases (less than $5,000) can now be filed electronically through our e-filing system.
Criminal cases for both County Courts at Law can now be viewed through Idocket. This program allows for registered subscribers to view criminal dockets via this website.
Public workstations are available for the searching of probate, criminal, and civil cases.
Goals
Continue working with the preservation of our vital statistics records such as Birth and Death Certificates, Marriage Records, and Discharge Records and the preservation of Court Records such as Criminal, Civil, and Probate cases.
Continue to assist all our veterans with the deserved respect in providing all required documentation necessary for them to obtain any and all available assistance (at no charge).
Continue to work together with all law enforcement entities including but not limited to the County Courts at Law, District Attorney’s Office, County Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, Juvenile Department, as well as other local, state, and federal entities.
Continue with the cross-training of all Webb County Clerks Office employees in order for them to be knowledgeable of all areas within the department.
Continue the preservation of our historical books which contain the History of Webb County.
