Labor Day “Drink. Drive. Go to Jail.” Enforcement Campaign

TxDOT is gearing up for the 2009 Impaired Driving Mobilization, which will run from August 21st–September 7th. The campaign message is “Drink. Drive. Go to Jail.” and the campaign slogan is “Choose Your Ride.” Graphic files attached. The statewide press event to announce the mobilization in Austin is set for August 20.
In addition, TxDOT’s new alternative media/outreach efforts will take place in the entertainment districts of Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. Efforts will include window clings placed on driver’s side windows and street posters near bars and clubs in entertainment districts. Decals will also be placed on bathroom mirrors and doors of bars, clubs and convenience stores with the help of our partners: the Texas Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association and the
Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
Locally districtwide, the City of Laredo Police Department and City of Eagle Pass will conduct enforcement activities as part of the yearly Impaired Driving Mobilization
