LPD Narcotics Division and ICE Agents seize bundles of marijuana after a brief chase

On 07-06-09, Laredo Police Narcotics/Vice Unit with assistance by Laredo Police Patrol Division, and I.C.E. Agents followed a vehicle, a 2004 Red in color Dodge Intrepid, suspected of having a load from previous narcotics investigations.  Patrol attempted to stop vehicle when the vehicle sped up and failed to stop. The vehicle eventually stopped at the end of Soria and El Sabinal, at which time several male subjects ran east bound from that location. AUSTIN – Regional leaders are set to meet with state transportation officials Tuesday as part of a long-term public involvement effort, providing guidance and local perspective to develop I-69.
The I-69 Corridor Segment Committee Number Five is one of five regional citizen advisory groups meeting in August to help the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) plan projects along the I-69 corridor to suit local and regional needs and improve mobility throughout the corridor. BRONCOS EDGED BY COLTS

August 6, 2009-San Angelo, TX-The Laredo Broncos had a late rally against them, as they fell to the San Angelo Colts by a score of 6-3 at Foster Field, on Thursday.
The Colts struck first in the second inning.  They loaded the bases with one out, on three walks by Broncos starter Gustavo Vasquez.  Then with two outs, Hank Lanto hit a two run single that scored Jason Landreth and Aaron Cone.  That gave San Angelo the 2-0 lead.

CBP Officers, Border Patrol Agents Seize $50,000 in Undeclared Currency, Two Handguns, 129 Bullets in Outbound Seizures at Laredo Port of Entry

 Laredo, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and Border Patrol agents conducting outbound operations this week seized $50,000 in undeclared currency, two handguns, four gun magazines and 129 rounds of ammunition in two separate seizures.  
 The currency seizure occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at the Lincoln-Juarez Bridge. CBP officers, Border Patrol agents and Texas Department of Public Safety officers conducting outbound (southbound) inspections referred a 2004 Toyota Camry driven by Misael Renteria, a 25-year-old U.S. citizen from Chicago, Ill. for a secondary examination. Laredo Independent School District will be holding student orientation for all students entering ninth grade in high school or sixth grade in middle school.  Students and parents will be able to work on 2009-10 class schedules and receive other important information regarding registration.
