Cestus Fighter, “Da Bomb” George “Crushes” Gonzalez in Four on ESPN Under card!

On July 31, 2009, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida was the site for ESPN’s “Friday Night Fights” boxing series that was headlined by Julio “The Kidd” Diaz taking on the impressive looking young prospect Victor Cayo.  The event was promoted by Seminole Warriors Boxing and proved to be another great night of super boxing action. AUSTIN– The Texas Department of Transportation doesn’t just try to keep traffic flowing, they try to keep information flowing, too.
To better inform and engage the public, TxDOT is now using several social media platforms to discuss area highways and projects, statewide programs, and other transportation-related initiativesin Texas.

Labor Day “Drink. Drive. Go to Jail.” Enforcement Campaign

TxDOT is gearing up for the 2009 Impaired Driving Mobilization, which will run from August 21st–September 7th. The campaign message is “Drink. Drive. Go to Jail.” and the campaign slogan is “Choose Your Ride.” Graphic files attached. The statewide press event to announce the mobilization in Austin is set for August 20.
In addition, TxDOT’s new alternative media/outreach efforts will take place in the entertainment districts of Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. Efforts will include window clings placed on driver’s side windows and street posters near …

One City, One Book Revealed

On August 03, 2009 at approximately 11:35 a.m. the Laredo Police Department was dispatched to a single vehicle accident at the 3 point intersection located on Zapata Hwy and Hwy 359.  A Chevy Camero carrying three passengers struck the dividing concrete barrier on the north bound lane on Zapata Hwy.  The driver identified as Maria de la Luz Rodriguez Alvarez, 22 yrs. of age, a 3 month baby boy, and a daughter age 3 were in the car at time of the accident.  The 22 yr. old mother and baby …

BRONCOS PELTED BY THUNDER

August 2, 2009-Laredo, TX-The Laredo Broncos fell behind early and could not come back, as they lost to the Coastal Bend Thunder by a score of 7-4 at Veterans Field, on Sunday.
The Thunder started the scoring in the first inning.  Michael Lewis led off with a triple and then scored when the relay throw by Jaime Morales was thrown into the Broncos’ dugout.  That gave Coastal Bend the 1-0 lead.
