Ranking by national magazine reaffirms what many residents already know
Laredo, TX—July 10, 2009—Recently, the City of Laredo was ranked the Happiest City in the United States by Men’s Health, a national magazine which based its assessment on various factors, including statistics given by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
“Of course Laredo is the happiest city in the United States,” City of Laredo Mayor Raul G. Salinas gleefully exclaimed. “We live in a beautiful city, where people work hard to provide for their families, where children’s accomplishments are honored, where local businesses support local organizations and where local government always tries to do what’s best to improve the quality of life for its citizens. People are happy live to here,” Salinas added, grinning from ear to ear.
“While other media try to paint a negative picture of Laredo, we have chosen to ignore it, because those of us who live here know what a great place this is to be,” he concluded happily.
