The first five innings of the game were dominated by the starting pitchers of both clubs, as the game was scoreless heading to the sixth.  Luis Arroyo for the Broncos gave up four hits, walked no one, and struck out four in his first five.  Juan Peralta was just as good for the WhiteWings, as he gave up two hits, walked two, and struck out five in his first five innings.  Peralta left the game after those five innings for an unknown reason as Juan Diaz came into …

Cigarroa High School Hires New Football Coach

Laredo Independent School District announces the hiring of the new football coach at Cigarroa High School.  Cigarroa First Assistant/Defensive Coordinator Frank De Hoyos has been promoted to Head Coach effective immediately.  De Hoyos has been interm coach since Manny Martinez resigned over the summer to accept a job at Memorial High School with Edgewood ISD in San Antonio.

TxDOT to Offer Violation Fee Reduction for Thousands of Toll Accounts
Texas Transportation Commission votes to create toll violation recovery program
SAN ANGELO, TX – Delinquent toll payers may soon get a break on violation fees under a one-time toll violation recovery program approved Thursday at the Texas Transportation Commission’s monthly meeting. In approving the measure, the state’s five transportation commissioners directed Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) staff to develop a program that would reduce the violation fees accrued on delinquent toll accounts, while requiring the individual to open a TxTag account …

Once again, the Laredo Public Library is teaming up with Food for Thought, a local non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger in our community, to launch One City, One Book, a city-wide book club.  Through this program, the Laredo Public Library wants to spread the joy of reading, while Food for Thought aims to feed the body by fueling the mind.

July 29, 2009-Laredo, TX-The Laredo Broncos set a ULB record by scoring a run in seven consecutive innings, as they beat the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings by a score of 7-6 at Veterans Field, on Wednesday.
The Broncos started the scoring in the second.  Argelis Nunez walked to lead off the inning, and went to second on a single by Luany Sanchez.  With one out Robert Moron reached on an error by Joaquin Rodriguez.  Nunez was able to score on the play, to give Laredo the 1-0 lead.
