The Twin City Bike Rally 4th of July Festivities kicked off yesterday July 3rd at the Civic Center Grounds with Live Music by Discreto and Grupo La Juventud. Food Booths are and Drink Booths are spread out throughout the Civic Center with other vendors selling posters or crafts and many more novelty items. The fun continues today with a parade and other events scheduled throughout the day. The festivities showcase local and area motorcycle clubs. In observance of the 4th of July holiday, all Webb County administrative offices will be closed Friday, July 3.
The holiday closure includes the Webb County Tax Assessor Collector’s Office.
The Webb County Sheriff’s Department will continue all services on its regular schedule.
Webb County Offices will re-open at 8 a.m. Monday, July 6.
Webb County Commissioners will meet for their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, July 13 at 9:00 a.m. at the Webb County Courthouse located at 1000 Houston Street.

Sustained hot and dry weather conditions has prompted Webb County Judge Danny Valdez to issue a county disaster declaration, banning the sale and use of “stick rockets” and “missiles with fins” by anyone other than a licensed pyrotechnics expert at a permitted event. The order does not ban all fireworks, but targets only those aerial fireworks with the greatest potential to cause wildfires and damage to property.

July 2, 2009-Laredo, TX-the Laredo Broncos thought they had won the game in
the bottom of the 9th, but needed 10 inning to beat the San Angelo Colts by
a score of 5-4 at Veterans Field, on Thursday.
The Colts jumped out to the early lead in the top of the 2nd. The Colts
loaded the bases with no one out against Broncos starter Ryan Harris.
Hunter Jobes hit a sacrifice fly scoring Bryan Frichter to 3rd. That gave
San Angelo the 1-0 lead.
