CUELLAR’S PROVISIONS REQUIRE OVERSIGHT OF NEW MORTGAGE RULES AND PROVIDE HOUSING COUNSELING IN COLONIAS
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Henry Cuellar today joined a bipartisan majority of the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act. The bill, which cracks down on predatory lending practices and ensures that the mortgage industry follows basic principles of sound lending, responsibility, and consumer protection, passed the U.S. House on a 300-114 vote.

THE LAREDO POLICE DEPARTMENT ARE INVESTIGATING A BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE WHICH OCCURRED AT THE HOLLYWOOD THEATER PARKING LOT, 2401 JACAMAN, ON APRIL 10, 2009 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 5:15 PM AND 7:00 PM.
UNKNOWN SUBJECTS BROKE INTO A 2005 GMC DENALI AND STOLE THE OWNERS PURSE IN WHICH WERE SEVERAL IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS INCLUDING, THREE SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS, FOUR BIRHT CERTIFICATES, AND OWNER’S TEXAS I.D.
THE CRIMES AGAINST PROPERTY DIVISION IS ASKING FOR THE PUBLICS ASSISTANCE WITH ANY INFORMATION THAT MAY LEAD TO THE IDENTIFICATION OF PERPETRATORS AND THE RECOVERY OF THE DOCUMENTS.

On 05/05/09, members of the Laredo Police Narcotics/Vice Unit arrested one DONNIE COX D.O.B. 09-08-73 and one CHRISTIE LYNN HERRERA D.O.B. 11-09-82 for one count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree Felony and one count of Possession of Marijuana, State Jail Felony. Both COX and HERRERA were processed, charged, and later transported to the Webb County Jail where they remained pending magistration. Additionally, HERRERA was served with an LPD Warrant for a fine owing $445.00. COX was served with a pending warrant issued by the U.S. Marshal’s …

On Wednesday May 06, 2009, the Laredo Police Department arrested Reymundo Barba, age 43, for 2 counts of alleged Indecency with a child- Felony 2. The case was reported to police in December 2008 when a female victim, a minor under the age of 17, out cried to an adult about an incident that occurred back in October 2008. The child alleged that Barba tried to impose himself on her in a forceful way. During the investigation another child was discovered to have a similar experience with …
