Heat Opening 2009 Regular Season at Home

After having to wait a few more days to get the 2009 Premier Development League (PDL) Regular Season underway, the Laredo Heat Soccer Club will open up at home this Thursday, May 7, 2009 versus the defending 2008 Mid-South Division Champion Austin Aztex at the TAMIU Soccer Complex. Kick-off is set for 8:00 PM.

The Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) 8th annual Click It or Ticket (CIOT) safety belt enforcement campaign will take place May 18 through May 31. State and local law enforcement will be working overtime to ensure motorists and passengers are following Texas safety belt laws. Safety belt violations will result in fines of $25 to $200, plus court costs.

Local Arrest made on a 30 yr. old Murder Warrant out of Baldwin Park, California

On May 05, 2009 the Laredo Police Department arrested 63 yr. old Jose Carmen Murillo for an outstanding Murder warrant from Baldwin Park, California Police Department.  The case dates back allegedly to 1976.  The state of California received information that Murillo was here in Laredo, and with the assistance of Laredo Police Detectives, Murillo was apprehended at a local business.  Murillo was booked and taken to Webb County Jail where the state of California will extradite Mr. Murillo back to Baldwin Park, California for the alleged Murder charge.
