“La Mexicana Restaurant” Cat Burglar Arrested!

 
      During the past several weeks there has been several Burglaries reported. The burglaries involved the removal of burglar bars using bolt cutters. Most of the locations that were hit were businesses. The burglaries occurred during the night time or early morning.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at approximately 11:07 pm, the Laredo Police Department received a call of a shooting by the 2900 block of S. Arkansas Ave.  Information given was that a male subject driving a gold Chrysler 300 had been shot and then crashed into a wall by the 3000 block of S. Arkansas Ave.  Officers arrived to the scene and found a male subject, later identified as Roberto Cisneros, DOB 4-26-76, inside a 2007 Gold Chrysler 300, sitting in the driver’s seat with several gunshot wounds.  Officers also …

BRONCOS LAND LAREDO NATIVE O.J. GARZA

April 29, 2009-Laredo, TX- The Laredo Broncos of the United League announce that they have signed outfielder O.J. Garza to a 2009 contract.
 
Garza grew up in Laredo and went to college at St. Mary’s.  He has played 5 years in professional baseball and has a lifetime batting average of .265 with 16 career homers and 118 RBI.  Broncos Field Manager Ricardo Cuevas coached Garza in high school, and can’t wait to work with him again, “O.J. TAMIU Olsen-Fazi International Film Festival

Texas A&M International University presents its first TAMIU Annette Olsen-Fazi International Film Festival. The Festival will primarily be screened at the TAMIU Student Center Theater, room SC 236 twice weekly throughout May.  The Festival honors the memory of the late Dr. Olsen-Fazi, who initiated the University’s first French Film Festival and passed away in January.
